The easy option is to write an ex-80s pop band member off, right? (Moore was part of ‘Brother Beyond’).

“My first job was as a foot messenger for the effects house GeoffAxtell,” says Moore, “so from the age of 17 I would deliver film to the labs as well as rushes to editors and producers in Soho.” Moore continued in this field, working on graphics for films that included ‘Shirley Valentine’, ‘Sid & Nancy’, ‘The Keep’ and ‘Letter to Brehnez’ (as well optical effects for ‘Time: The Musical’). “At the same time I was also in a band with my sister called the Palm Tree Club and at weekends we would play at pubs in Hertfordshire.” Two years on and Moore was working as an aerial image cameraman, shooting ads for clients that included Birds Eye, Rolo and Gold Blend.”

Fatefully, in 1985 he joined the band ‘Brother Beyond’ and one year later they signed to EMI records. Of course, the band were huge at the time. The band co-produced their own material. Their album ‘Get Even’ topped the charts. The band split in 1990 (ex-member Carl Fysh now works with Cold Play and Goldfrapp, amongst others; Egg White is an award-winning songwriter whose hits include Will Young’s ‘Leave Right Now’, Adele’s ‘Chasing Pavements’, and Duffy’s ‘Warwick Avenue’).

A spell of further diversty in the early 90s saw Moore based in LA, working as a TV Presenter for Mike Mansfield Productions and appearing in the musical, ‘A Slice of Saturday Night’. In 1994 Moore was approached by Garry Wilson who auditioned the singers initially alongside Simon Cowel and became a member of the band, ‘Worlds Apart’. A world apart indeed, they signed wth EMI in 1996 and went platinum in France; became huge in Poland, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Spain too (often singing in each country’s native language); and stacked up hits that include ‘Je Te Donne’/’Quand Je Reve De Toi’ (French), ‘Yestes Moim Snem’ (Polish) and ‘Yo Te Doy’ (Spanish). “After two number one albums, we split in 2000,” continues Moore, “and it was at that point I went into artist management.” With Hyperactive and Garry Wilson, Moore co-managed acts such as Natasha Bedingfield, Lisa Scott-Lee, James Fox (Fame Academy), Hayley Evetts (Pop Idol) and Phixx (Popstars The Rivals). He also managed the opera singer Keedie, teaming up with Andrew Lloyd Webber and Duncan James (‘Blue’) to record the hit from the musical ‘The Woman In White ‘.moore_nathan_1453_w200

During 2005-07, Moore filmed the TV shows ‘ Totally Scott- Lee’ (MTV), ‘Boys Will Be Girls ‘ (Channel 4) and ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ (ITV), managing the acts of the frst two shows. In his ITV appearance, Moore was back doing it all over again: singing live. Shortly afterwards he gave up management, returning to performing live, which he still does now. He performs around 100 shows a year and in May this year toured with Rick Astley, Kim Wilde and Howard Jones, playing venues such as the MEN in Manchester and Wembley Arena. He is currently studying at the Manchester School of Acting.
